Contact the developer

For help with Vinyl Rider, message @vinylrider.app on Instagram. Include your device model, operating-system version, app version, what you were trying to do, and the exact error message if one appeared.

Please do not send your Bandcamp password, generated Subsonic password, audio files, or other sensitive information. Vinyl Rider is independent from Bandcamp, so Bandcamp account, purchase, and collection-entitlement issues should be directed to Bandcamp Support.

Connect Bandcamp

  1. Open Bandcamp Fan Settings in your browser.
  2. Generate separate Subsonic credentials. These are not your normal Bandcamp login credentials.
  3. In Vinyl Rider, choose Bandcamp as a track source and enter the generated username and password.

The credentials are validated directly with Bandcamp and then stored in your device's secure credential storage. They are not sent to a developer-operated server.

If the connection is rejected, make sure your Bandcamp collection contains at least one eligible track. Generate fresh credentials and choose Update Credentials in the app. Bandcamp's Subsonic service is in open beta and may occasionally be unavailable or change.

Download troubleshooting

If a download is slow or fails:

  • return to a stable internet connection;
  • confirm that your device has enough free storage;
  • update your Bandcamp credentials if the app reports that they were rejected; and
  • retry the item from the download queue.

Downloads continue while you browse or use the decks in the foreground. The app does not promise background transfers. Leaving the app safely stops active work, and ordinary queued downloads can resume when you return. Already downloaded tracks remain available offline.

Device audio troubleshooting

Use the system file picker to choose one supported audio file at a time. If a file cannot be loaded, confirm that it is a genuine audio file in a format supported by your device and that it is stored locally or fully downloaded from your cloud-file provider.

The app receives only the file you select. It does not scan your music library or request broad media access.

Storage and deletion

  • Remove one or more tracks from Downloaded Tracks to delete selected offline media.
  • Use Remove All to clear the offline library.
  • Use Disconnect Bandcamp to remove generated credentials without deleting saved tracks.
  • Uninstall the app or clear its app data to remove all local app data.

There is no export, sharing, cloud sync, or cross-device library sync. Keep independent copies of audio you cannot replace.
