Overview
Vinyl Rider is a free DJ-practice app designed to keep its working data on your device. The developer does not operate an account system or application backend and does not add advertising, analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs to the app.
This policy explains what the app stores, when it communicates with third-party services, and what happens when you contact support or visit this website.
Information the developer collects
The developer does not receive or maintain a copy of your Bandcamp credentials, downloaded music, artwork, device audio files, offline-library metadata, BPM results, bass-analysis timelines, download queue, or app preferences.
The app does not request contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, advertising identifier, or media-library permission. When you use the system file picker, the app receives only the audio file you choose.
Information stored on your device
Depending on the features you use, Vinyl Rider stores the following locally:
- app preferences, including theme and deck-display settings;
- Bandcamp-generated Subsonic credentials in the operating system's secure credential storage;
- downloaded Bandcamp audio, artwork, and track metadata in the app's private storage;
- BPM and bass-analysis results used by the decks;
- download queue and recovery information; and
- temporary private copies of device audio selected through the system file picker while needed for playback.
Offline-library data is excluded from the app's own cloud-backup and device-transfer configuration where the operating system supports that control. The app does not provide cloud sync, cross-device library sync, public sharing, or media export.
Bandcamp connection
Connecting Bandcamp is optional. You generate separate Subsonic credentials in Bandcamp Fan Settings and enter them in the app. Vinyl Rider then sends authenticated HTTPS requests directly from your device to Bandcamp's Subsonic service to validate the connection, browse your authenticated collection, and retrieve selected audio, artwork, and metadata.
The developer does not proxy or receive those requests. Bandcamp may process your account information, request details, IP address, and other technical data under Bandcamp's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Vinyl Rider is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Bandcamp.
App stores and operating systems
Apple, Google, your device manufacturer, and your operating system may independently process purchase/download, diagnostic, security, or device information when you obtain or use the app. The developer does not control those platform services. Their own privacy notices apply.
Website and support
This static website does not use advertising cookies or a developer analytics service. It is intended to be hosted by Vercel, which may process standard network and server-log information, such as IP address, browser details, requested pages, and timestamps, to deliver and secure the site. See Vercel's Privacy Notice.
If you contact the developer through a support channel, the developer receives the account information and message content you choose to provide and uses it only to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain necessary support records. The service providing that channel separately processes the communication under its own terms and privacy policy. Please do not send Bandcamp passwords, audio files, or other sensitive information in a support message.
Retention and deletion
You control app data stored on your device:
- Bandcamp credentials: use Disconnect Bandcamp to remove them from secure credential storage.
- Downloaded tracks: remove individual or selected downloads from Downloaded Tracks, or use Remove All.
- All app data: uninstall the app or clear its app data using your device settings.
Disconnecting Bandcamp does not automatically delete downloaded tracks. Removing the app deletes its private local data, subject to how your operating system handles deletion.
Support messages remain within the relevant platform and the developer's support conversation for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve and document the request. You may ask the developer to delete the developer's copy of a support conversation, although the platform may retain its own copy under its policies or legal obligations.
Children
Vinyl Rider is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information in a support message, contact the developer so it can be addressed.
Your choices and rights
Because the developer does not receive the app's on-device library or credentials, the developer generally cannot access, correct, export, or delete that data for you. Use the in-app and device controls described above.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information you voluntarily provide in a support request, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. Contact the developer through the support channel below. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Security
The app uses operating-system secure credential storage for Bandcamp credentials and HTTPS for Bandcamp requests. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and the developer cannot guarantee absolute security or the security of third-party services.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app, website, or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel when reasonably possible.
